I think this is the area where there were supposed to be the Red-throated Loons nesting, but like before, there was no sign of them.
another spot, a bit further along the road, beside a creek....the area was carpeted with those Creeping Raspberries......
but also some flowers we hadn't seen before, like these For-get-me-nots......
and this unusual succulant called 'Roseroot'
Our last stop was again a drive up to a micro-wave tower, this one also happened to be a trailhead for several trails that went back into the Tombstone Mountains. This is a final look north to that wonderful country we had been through......
and this is a look towards the south....viewed from much higher up into the mountains than the view afforded from the highway.
I've mentioned before the number of types of Willows along the Dempster, and the diminuative size of some of them....well this has to be one of the smallest and most unusual!
Ernie got this great picture of this unusual Willow, I think the leaves right in the foreground are some of that Bearberry.
and now, looking down from the final viewpoint before we got to Tombstone Campground, looking at the North Fork Klondike River, that seemed a little more open than when we'd last been here......
